The Factors That Influence the Selection of Magnetic Separator

Dry magnetic separator is not only applicable to the magnetic separation of the ores whose particle size is less than 3mm such as magnetite, pyrrhotite, roasted ore, ilmenite, but also can be used for iron removal work of coal, non-metallic minerals and building materials. Hongxing Mining Machinery Company specializes in the production of magnetic separator, which is featured with deep magnetic field strength, large wrap angle of the magnetic system, stable magnetic field strength and reliable transmission system. It can significantly increase the grade of the ore to be into the mill. The factors that influence the selection of the magnetic separator as follows.
(1) The thickness of the feeding layer. It is related with particle size and the content of magnetic particle of the raw materials being processed. When processing the coarse particles, its feeding layer is thicker than that of the fine particles. When processing the coarse fraction of the ore, the feeding layer of the ore is about 1.5 times thicker than that of the largest particle, while 4 times for the maximum particle and 10 times for the fine material. When the magnetic material content of the raw materials is not high, the feeding layer should be thinner. If too thick, the magnetic particles in the lowermost are subjected to the pressure of the upper material and they cannot be raised by the magnetic force, decreasing the recovery. If the content of magnetic particles is high, the feeding layer can be thicker.
(2) The magnetic field strength and the working gap. It has a close relationship with the granularity of the material to be processed, magnetic level and operational requirements. When the working gap is fixed, the magnetic field strength is determined by the ampere-turns of the coil that cannot be adjusted. The magnetic field strength can only be adjusted by changing the excitation current. To deal with the ores with strong magnetism, the weak magnetic field should be chosen, and vice versa. When the current is constant, the change of the working gap can not only change the strength of the magnetic field, but also can change the magnetic field gradient. When handpicking, it is better to enlarge the working gap to increase the selectivity and improve quality, but at the same time, it is necessary to increase the magnetizing current to guarantee the magnetic field strength.
